FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What exactly is concierge medicine and how does it differ from traditional healthcare?

Concierge medicine is a personalized healthcare model where patients pay a membership fee for enhanced services such as longer appointment times, direct access to the physician, and more comprehensive care. It differs from traditional healthcare in that it allows for a closer doctor-patient relationship and a broader unrestrictive focus on preventative care.

  • How does direct access to the physician work in your concierge model?

Direct access means you can reach your physician often without going through a receptionist or nurse. You can schedule appointments, ask questions, or discuss health concerns directly with Dr. Miller, with same or next-day appointments during office hours and limited wait times.

  • I have a Flexible Spending Account or a Health Savings Account through work. Can I use that for the annual fee?

Yes. Apex Concierge Health's fees are eligible for coverage by most Medical Savings Plans. Check with your plan administrator. By using pre-tax dollars designated for medical expenses, out-of-pocket costs may be reduced by as much as 30–40%.

  • I’m covered by Medicare. Can I still see Dr Miller?

Yes; however, Medicare will not cover any services provided by Dr. Miller. He will not submit any claims to Medicare, and you may not submit any services provided by Apex Health for reimbursement. Your Medicare coverage will continue to cover costs incurred by all other physicians, hospitals, labs, etc. If you have Medicare, you will be asked to sign a waiver acknowledging a private relationship with Dr. Miller.

  • Can I still use my insurance for certain services within the concierge practice?

While concierge medicine typically does not involve insurance billing for the membership fee, we encourage patients to retain insurance for visit services, specialist visits, hospitalizations, and other healthcare needs outside of the concierge practice.

  • What are the benefits of joining a concierge practice like Apex?

The benefits of joining our concierge health practice include personalized and unhurried care, enhanced access to your physician, proactive preventative care, minimal wait times for appointments, and a focus on overall wellness and health optimization.

  • How do you handle emergencies or urgent medical needs in your concierge model?

In the event of emergencies or urgent medical needs we provide expedited care and assistance. Members have access to their physician outside of regular office hours for urgent concerns and we coordinate with local hospitals and specialists as needed.

  • How do I become a member of your concierge health practice, and what is the process for enrollment?

There are two ways to become a member of our concierge health practice: 1) Click the Sign-Up Button and fill out your information directly on the site - OR 2) simply contact Apex Concierge Health via phone or contact form to schedule an initial consultation. During the consultation, we will discuss our services, answer any questions you may have, and guide you through the enrollment process, which typically involves completing paperwork and setting up payment arrangements for the membership fee.

  • What Does My Membership Fee Go Towards

The membership fee for Apex Health covers your Executive Annual Physical. All other additional visits may be billed at up to $25 per visit.
